Cookie policy

What cookies we use

At the moment this website sets no cookies of its own, and no analytics, advertising or social media cookies. Even so, we show you a notice so you can decide what you allow: if we add any of these tools in the future, they will not be switched on without your consent.

One technical item for the age notice

So that we do not have to ask your age on every page, your browser stores a small technical item using local storage (localStorage), named “escondite_18”. It contains only the date until which we remember your confirmation, and it expires after 30 days.

That item contains no personal information, is never sent to any server, does not allow you to be identified and is not shared with anyone. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.

Your cookie choices

The categories you can accept or reject are: analytics (to see how many visits we get and which pages are viewed), advertising and social media (to measure campaigns and show ads on other platforms) and external content (maps, videos and other third-party content). Essential items, such as the age notice or this choice itself, are always on because the site cannot work without them. When we add a specific tool, we will list it on this page with its name, purpose and duration.

Your decision is stored in your browser's local storage under the name “escondite_cookies”. It contains only the categories you accepted and the date, and we remember it for 12 months; after that we will ask you again. You can change it or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

The Google map, only if you ask for it

On the Contact page we offer a Google Maps map that does not load automatically. Only when you press the “Show the map” button does your browser connect to Google, which at that point may set its own cookies and see your IP address.

If you do not press that button, this website makes no connection to Google whatsoever. You can also use the “Open in Google Maps” link, which takes you straight to Google’s site.

If you accepted external content in the cookie notice, the map loads straight away when you open the page, without pressing the button.

Links to other services

When you click the links to Google Maps, WhatsApp or Booking.com you leave this website. Those services apply their own cookie and privacy policies, which we recommend you consult.

How to control this in your browser

You can block or delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings. Each browser handles this differently; you will find instructions in its help menu. If you block local storage, the age notice will appear again on every visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy if the way the site works changes. The version in force will always be the one published on this page.
